ABOUT

Downbeat Mastering is a full-service mastering studio based in Aotearoa New Zealand. Founded and operated by mastering engineer Joshua Llewellyn, the studio works with artists and record labels from around the world across a wide range of musical genres. Joshua's mastering credits include award-winning albums, earning a reputation for quality, consistency, and attention to detail. He also has extensive knowledge of the vinyl industry and has been cutting records since 2014.

 

Our studio is designed by acoustician John Brandt and equipped with ATC monitors and a carefully selected mix of analog and digital technology.

We're passionate about music, mastering, and the people we work with. We support the music community both locally and abroad and primarily work with independent artists, labels, and underground music scenes. We believe good communication is an important part of every project and take pride in being actively involved throughout the process.
